Music notes last a certain amount of beats per measure. Take quarter notes for example; in 4/4 time each quarter note equals one beat, there are four beats per bar.

Point of view:
This is a broad topic, however this is the way I interpreted it.
I find it interesting how people get offended by symbols on clothing. Crosses can be advertised, but when someone wears a Pentagram around their neck it can be considered gang related, even though its just advertising their beliefs like others do.
