Analysis of a Celebrity Photoshop Fail Magazine Cover

1. Andy Roddick

2. In the magazine cover Andy is way more muscular and built than in actuality. This gives an image to young males that a man should have muscle.

3. White Males, young adult.

2. In this cover, Kim is thinner and more toned. This conveys to young girls that the thinner and toned you are the more beautiful you are.

3. Teenage girls and women in their early twenty's.

4. Both of these images are photo shopped. I chose both a male and female to show that although the audience is different, the mind-set is unfortunately the same. Making young people think they aren't  good enough and need to be 'perfect'.

5. The intended audience may very between images and time. Generally if you have an image of a thin attractive female the audience is intended to be young girls. However it can very between gender and age depending on the media. Same goes for a male image. The media very often effects the way we see ourselves very negatively. Images surrounding this topic often encourage eating disorders and disported images of ones body.

Prompt#1- What is Media? February12th

Media is technology displayed to the public to promote a fad, location, item, artist, etc. Media can be defined in many different ways. It can be text, voice or digitally displayed. Images on billboards advertising companies or on a completely different end, a song. A journalism report is considered text media, and is no less important that a television show or movie. We can create our own media by making a poster, article or video. Social media is also a great way to be able to interact with different events and people; it's quick and efficient. (ie: My space, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, Flicker, etc.) We share pictures, write random things, interact with other human beings though media. Heck, what I'm doing right now is media. This is media.

The impact of media on my life is that I have no social life other than with a few select people and everyone else I'm like "Naw I have a date with tumblr and music." My family: Oh, you're home for once. Let's watch a movie and have some dinner. Me: I am watching a movie on the interweb and doing homework ain't nobody got time for dinner and family. and that, is how media has impacted my life and probably most of the teenage population.
